Accommodation-Only bookings

The following cancellation conditions apply to accommodation-only bookings (please refer to separate section for details of package deal bookings):

If cancellation occurs within 35 days of the start date of your original accommodation booking, or No Show, or abandonment, or any time after check-in: 100% Gross Tariff penalty applies (this means the full price of the accommodation-only package). No refunds will be applied within 35 days of the start date of the original accommodation booking.

  • 50% penalty per person will apply if cancellation occurs between 36 and 65 days of the accommodation start date.
  • A fee of $50.00 per person per amendment will apply to bookings.
  • A $100 cancellation fee per person will apply to all bookings.

Travel insurance which includes Covid-19 coverage (such as CoverMore) is strongly recommended. We strongly suggest all travellers to Norfolk Island take out Travel Insurance to provide some protection against certain delays, cancellations, medical costs, etc. Australian Medicare extends to Norfolk Island for Australian citizens and permanent residents. Medical evacuations can cost taxpayers $35,000 or more!!

Testing Covid Positive on Norfolk Island

If a guest tests positive for Covid-19 during their stay, a Covid Deep Cleaning Fee per villa, equivalent to the Cumberland website rate for one night for the same room type, shall be payable by the guest as specialised cleaning and a vacancy period is required. We always recommend Travel Insurance which includes Covid-19 coverage.

Cancellation Penalties are strictly enforced.

Package Deal bookings

The following cancellation conditions apply to package deal bookings (please refer to section to the left for details of accommodation-only bookings): Packages are Non-Refundable after issue. Changes are not permitted for any reason after the tickets are issued.

Cumberland will not be responsible after the tickets have been issued for any changes caused by airline delays, cancellations or airline schedule changes, and will not be liable for any refunds, damages or extra nights accommodation in such circumstances.
